Traveling Moab, UT - Everything You Need To Know!

Moab, Utah is one of the hidden gems and the land of the red rocks. If you haven’t seen the red rocks that you have seen in photos, they truly will take your breath away. It’s a little piece of Mars on planet earth - that’s the best way to describe it. After many frequent visits to Moab during Summer 2020 I’m sharing my favorite hiking, photo spots, parks and food finds. Enjoy :)

Moab Mountain Biking/Hiking

  1. Corona Arch - The infamous arch that is known around the world. It’s only a 2-3 mile hike and worth every minute. I suggest jumping in the river on your way back across the street!

  2. Longbow Arch Hike - Another arch in Moab that is a must! The arches cover the entire area and are amazing to see.

  3. Slick Rock Mt. Bike or Hiking Trail - One of the very known mt. biking trails and amazing hiking to be walking on Mars like rock and great for sunset!

  4. Mill Creek Waterfall - One of the few places you can find water in the desert. Hike out to this waterfall and enjoy a rinse off and a quick hike on the way.

Moab Things To Do

  1. Swim in the river - One of our favorite spots to jump in the river that runs through Moab is right off of Kane Creek Rd (turn right at the Mcdonalds) and it’s such a nice refresher and river to swim in!

  2. Canyonlands National Park - This is a must! Rumor has it that this park is grander than the Grand Canyon (can’t confirm but it’s definitely amazing). This is a national park that you can drive through and get some GREAT photo ops! The park entrance is right outside of entering Moab.

  3. Dead Horse State Park - This is also one of the most amazing views in Moab and right up there with Grand Canyon views. Remember there will be a park entrance fee.

  4. Off-Roading - One of the popular off-roading spots is Slick Rock park where you can find Lions Back, Slick Rock, Baby Lions back and more off-roading trails. Even if you don’t want to participate it’s pretty great to see the jeeps that are taking defying climbs to the next level.

Moab Food Spots

  1. Quesadilla Mobilla - We literally plan our arrival to make it to this spot before they close. Amazing and easy food for anyone on the go or looking to sit outside after a long day. And only $9 :)

  2. Moab Espresso - The ultimate coffee and work house. I’ve spent more hours in this coffee shop than most - great place to get work done or a great coffee and quick breakfast.

  3. Moab Tropical Sno - Who doesn’t love a snow cone in 100F? This is a routinely must after we stop at quesadilla mobilla.

Moab Places To Stay

  1. Hotels - There are many hotels on the way into Moab and downtown. I don’t have a specific one I love but I’ve stayed at a ton and this is always a great backup plan! Somewhere quick and cheap is the Bowman Motel and it’s right downtown for easy walking access.

  2. Camping - There is ton of BLM land that you can find in Moab, aka free camping. Our favorite spot is right before town when you enter Moab and you can pick your spot and set up camp!

  3. Airbnb - This is of course another option! My thoughts on airbnb in Moab is you will be farther from town and not walking access. If you’re looking to engross yourself into the walking downtown experience then stick with hotels.
